It is pleasurable to urge us to produce offspring.
Animals crave sex as well but only during high-fertility moments.
I think that would also point out the difference between functional sex and sex-for-fun.
Evolutionary-wise I have no explanation up front for the fact that we 'do it all the time' while other species don't. Perhaps this is a form of 'free will' only found in more intelligent species? (*wild guessing here*)
