I've only mostly skimmed through this post, but I will also say that it won't happen. For it to happen, it would assume that everyone will adopt new technology as soon as it comes out. This just doesn't happen. A lot of people don't have the time or money or know how.
Just look at the US today. Wasn't it that less than 50% of US households have computers and/or internet access? How long has that been avaiable and it still isn't adopted most. How many people still have a TV that was made more than 5 years ago? How many peoples VCRs still flash 12:00?
It won't happen.
