Fluffy light rice that doesn't stick together isn't natural! After much exposure to Asian friend's and their cooking I finally realized that it's an American thing to want the rice neat and tidy
The rice should be sticky so that it's easier to eat (chopsticks or not) I find that it tastes better too.
Ok, sticky is a relative term unless you're cooking the true sticky rice, but still, it's not minute rice either! I second the idea of a rice cooker. I've had a Hitachi cooker for 15 years now and it's still going strong.
