YES!
Mogwai is excellent and very good in a live setting, although ear plugs are most recommended. I find them to be a bit less "orchestra-like" than Godspeed You! Black Emperor (btw, it's awesome that an Australian knows them!), but similar to Sigur Ros.
I own 2 of their albums: "Come On Die Young" and "Rock Action", both of which I wholeheartedly recommend, especially "Come On Die Young", which contains my favorite Mogwai song: "May Nothing But Happiness Come Through Your Door".
I am glad to meet people with such excellent taste in music!
