My problem is similar to This problem but not really. Every 1/100 times my monitor goes into 'sleep' mode (kinda like auto shut off) it comes back on at half strenght. It looks really dark and i cant see very well. i tried restarting and unplugging everything, plugging it back in, and still nothing. I tried changing the power setting but everything seemed ok. tired changing the Bright/Cont but the buttons on the bottom of my monitor dont work (there is a on screen display). then i figured out its not my PC because the buttons work if the monitor isnt plugged into the PC. So i dunno. it happend before and my bro fixed it but hes not home to tell me how he did it.
Im confused and want to get pack to playing Red Faction II. If you have any ideas please post.

Edit: Sorry forgot to post what monitor. Its a AcerView 76c
