I liked the one with the burrowing creature that could move through rock. It secreted some kind of acid, I believe, that allowed it to dissolve the rocks.
It was being disturbed by miners and it started killing the miners so the Enterprise was called in to solve the problem and Spock ended up doing a mind-meld with one.
I'm not sure, but I think the miners were inadvertently threatening its' young.
I don't recall the title of the episode, but it was a favorite.
