It is true. It's teh reason men get errections in their sleep.
The flacid penis simply doesn't contain enough blood to delived adiquate oxyyegn to penile tissue. Errections are key in penile health.
I never went on to the part where it said how long it took for major damage to occur, but unless your SO doen't mind possible future sexual problems- as far as errections go-I'd advise you to keep it up.
