I'm about to put a locking knob on my door. MY brother just won't go away, and my mother has said, "kids shouldn't keep secrets from their parents." She disregards the fact that being 19 doesn't really qualify as a kid, and assumes that if I don't openly display whatever I'm doing, I'm doing something wrong.
