There is no official interpretation. But the basic idea is that case, molly, and riviera live inside neuromancer's simulated world. Even though their "real" (which is more real?) life counterparts have been eliminated.
Neuromancer's (the novel) description of case's relationship with cyberspace and the net, and the flatline (whose name I forget) is supposed to make you question the value of the flesh.
Case and the flatline certainly seem in favor of it, but neuromancer/wintermute revel in their own existences. Tessier/Ashpool lady whose name I also forget (she was murdered by her husband and isn't actually in the book) as part of her master plan was going to have all the family live on inside neuromancer, she devalued the flesh. The clan as a whole does, with the husband dude (the one who get's shot in the eye) clones and rapes/murders the clones of his daughter.
Spent about a month studying the novel... forget it all :-P Great book... worth reading many many times...
