Growing up, I played mostly street sports. Nothing organized, just screwing around with my friends. We played football, baseball, hockey, basketball, softball (16") and even soccer (which wasn't very popular back then) Now, I play lacrosse with my kids. I really wish we had this sport growing up. It's a lot of fun. I wasn't that much of an athlete growing up. Played little league for two years. We won a total of 3 games in two years. After I left, the team went on to win the league championship. I took the hint.
Lacrosse is starting to take root here in the midwest. My boys play for their H.S. club team. Me? I'm the goalie in the yard. I did find out I need to wear shin guards though. Took a ball off the shin and a little while later, discovered a second knee cap about halfway down my shin. OUCH. It's still not healed all the way.
