Joey B on point again. I know the feeling, man. Being a Yankee fan, you're automatically considered a frontrunner. I grew up idolizing Donnie Baseball and he never won a damn thing. But what a great postseason he had in 1995. It was so fitting. You just knew if he had the chance to peform on a big stage, he'd do it. For me, that catapulted him into legendary Yankee status. Too bad they lost the series. When the Yankees won it in 1996, I was 17. I cried. It was special for me, because my grandfather was the biggest Yankee fan I knew and I got to celebrate with him the next morning. He died two years later just three days before the start of the 1998 season, so he missed the next three titles and that great run they had. Each year they won it from 1998-2000 was bittersweet for me because he wasn't there to share it. That's my story. So I get offended when people assume you are a bandwagon fan. I like all New York teams. Just grew up that way. The Knicks. The Giants. The Rangers. The Yankees. Two of them stink, so I can hardly be a frontrunner.
