The one I suggest is
Return to me, a pretty good and recent one with David Duchovny and Minnie Driver. It starts kinda slow and sappy but develops into one of the best awkward situation/conversation comedies I've seen.
I've also heard the original foreign film that "City of Angels" was based on is really good... I forget the name or language, anyone know?
