Foremost, it was indeed a publicity stunt. The fact that we're talking about it means that it worked. But I agree that it was stupid and totally blatant. I mean, you've got Madonna who is hearing the tick-tick-tick of getting older and not as cool as she was. Then you've got Britney and Christina who are DYING to be "recognized as women" (i.e., get naked) and outdo the other. So, this was just waiting to happen - or something like this.
Now, as a man, I agree that it was hot. But, I DO NOT agree that it needs to be on MTV. If I want to rent a video or buy a magzine, I can. My kids cannot. (I don't have any, but they would not be able to because of me.) So, whether it is two women or two men, I don't want to see that on MTV because kids are watching that. Yes, I've revealed that I'm anti-homosexuality. But MTV's all about the shock value (God knows they're not about MUSIC!!!), so we'll probably see more and worse in the near future.
