One night I was seeing the wierdest shit in the sky.. My brother, best friend, and I went out to make a fire. The second I looked up into the sky I saw a orange fireball that looked like a spark. My brother and friend seen it as well. About 5 seconds after I first saw the fireball, a shooting star shot across the sky right towards it south. When I saw a fireball the first thing I thought was missile/end of world. I about shit my pants and ran in the house to tell my parents. When I went outside it was gone.
Then I saw these wierd flashing things that looked like stars but sparkled with red, blue, and white right after I ran back outside. All looked very far off in the distance but one outside was moving right over my field very slowly. Once it was a ways away it just stopped dead in its tracks. That night there were 2-5 of these exact things in the sky at a time, but none looked like they were moving like the one I saw was. Every time I looked outside they would be gone from where I saw them previously and be situated at different spots in the sky. I'd go outside and check back every half hour but they would vanish and I'd see the same thing at a differnet spot in the sky. My dad saw them too and said it was probably a reflection given off by the moon.
All this happened when Mars was just getting close and I think a meteor shower was scheduled (it was in mid-august). The day after this the massive blackout occured.. Kind of freaked me out.
I still see these red, white, and blue sparkles in the sky sometimes now. I keep thinking they are airplanes, but I have seen many airplanes in my life and these seem to be different. Could these be satellites I am seeing?
