I bought a Philips Seismic Edge PSC705 sound card the other day that is capable of 5.1 and 4 channel sound in addition to standard stereo sound. Anyway, I have a 2.1 speaker system and i wanted to know if it would work if i connected an additional 2.1 system to it making it 4 speakers with 2 subwoofers.

(I haven't tried any of this yet, because the soundcard and I are in San Diego right now while my computer is in Davis.)

The box for the sound card says that it transforms any stereo source into 4/5.1 channel sound. If anyone is familiar with this soundcard, please tell me if this 4.2 speakers idea will work.

I am also thinking about getting a 3.1 speaker instead of another 2.1 for 5.2 channels. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
