gotta agree w/ sion, if it's not grounded well it won't do the deed. however, if ticking then it's a solenoid problem. try getting a friend to tap the solenoid w/ a stick/broom handle while you turn the key.. quick diagnosis and much cheaper than dealer. if that's the issue take it back to where you bought it and tell em they sold you a beat starter. good luck man.
