This is why I find email lists much superior to web forums. It's impossible to keep up on most forums. Where as if I don't read a mailing list for a few weeks the mail just piles up and I can read it at my lesiure sorted by subject.

Orwell was also concerned about the decay of language. The Party was in favour of "Newspeak", a language in which it was impossible to express a politically incorrect thought.
