The multiple clocks placed around the room is a good idea, but here's a better one:
power naps.
Sometimes during the day, when you have twenty minutes to spare, go lie down and set your alarm for twenty minutes later. It'll probably take you ten minutes to fall asleep, then you sleep for ten minutes in a higher-level, energizing sleep and wake up refreshed.
If you do this, you shouldn't need to sleep like such a log at night, regardless of what time you go to bed. JUST MAKE SURE YOU NEVER SLEEP FOR AN HOUR. Once you've slept for that long, your mind starts entering lower-level sleep stages, and you've fucked yourself but good.
Such is the way of things.
