China has *always* had a huge population, and this has always been both an advantage (security, manpower) and a disadvantage (food supply, bureaucracy). The country has always had lots of potential, but has been held back by "nationalism", in the sense that everything outside China isn't important/good enough to truly matter.
IF China can shake off it's dictatorial government, while maintaining it's national stability, *and* get rid of the innate conservatism of many Chinese... only then might they have a winning strategy.
