At The Drive-In sounds like punk rock filtered through Rage Against the Machine. "Arc Arsenal," "One-Armed Scissor," and "Cosmonaut" are favorites of mine.
Beware, though, that Bixler's voice is much more rough around the edges than with Volta.. I think he took voice lessons after he left ATDI, because his delivery often devolves in ragged shouting on the ATDI stuff.
It's also a lot less experimental, and there's no Santana influence or Led Zepplin tributage.
