First, get some flypaper, that stuff is great. Second, clean up everything sweet and moist. Empty your trash, even in the bathrooms, clean your counters, look behind stuff for a rotten bannana, etc. It really only takes one bad bananna to fill your house/apartment with flies. I just learned that the hard way. Took me a whole week to figure out where they were coming from.
After you remove the source, they will be gone within a week.
