Sorry to hear that you lost the tournament. There will be plenty of others and you'll get better with each game.
As for drills, try to practice jumping on sand. At the net from the far left or right, jump up and practice blocking. Do this from left to middle to right, or vice versa. Squat down, push as hard as you can against the sand, and feel yourself reaching for the sky. You have to believe and want to jump as high as your body will let you. I have heard everything from I'm too short, to I'm a girl, to I can't do it. But no matter who you are, if you believe and know that you are capable of doing exceptional things with your body then, with pratice, your body will comply.
Also, if you want to practice spiking. Do the same thing. Practice on sand.
Do that as many times as you can possibly do. I can almost promise you that once you jump on sand and then play on grass or indoor, you'll feel like you can fly! Good luck.
