A friend of mine had this problem. His conclusion was, like Homer Simpson, that if you try to stop it, "You're doing that the sucker way, you need a little 'Vitamin G' [Homer begins dumping gasoline all over the weeds]"
He didn't try super concentrated roundup, but the regular stuff didn't work.
