Hey Im looking to buy a new computer and Im asking for helpful suggestions

ie, AMD or INTEL, im looking at around 2.6G, so is the intel worth the extra cost,

also whats the best ram, maybe 512-1G worth
is nforce2 all that good

i want a quiet system so is GFFX out of the question,
Im probably going to get a 9700 so what brand is best,
