Interesting to think that this info would not matter as much if they had sided with us. Perhaps they were only acting with self-interest in mind....oh wait, that was fairly obvious. What really kills me is that France, Russia and Germany all want a say in post-war reconstruction. I am not sure how it's going to pan out, but I would think that we would want to keep them out initially and let the new government learn the ropes and pull everything together. I believe that's what is going to happen, but the whole global politics thing is a bit sketchy.
