I'm not an atheist, but I don't take the bible literally either. The problem with saying the bible is holy because of what it's about, is that there are how many other religions that claim similar things?
Shit, how many people today believe that they are God or the son of God? Why should we believe an ancient account?
Because someone you don't know, can not vouch for, said so? That might not be enough of a reason for an atheist to change their mind.
