"Lets assume you're right, and we've got a working time machine that lets you go back in time and sterilize your own parents before you were born. You'd cease to exist in the present, since you were never born in the past. Wouldn't that mean the script just changed? For the same point in time (the present), there are now two different outcomes!"
If YOU go back in time and serilize YOUR parents you'd never be born to go back in time to sterilize your parents. Unless you found some way to protect yourself from changes in the timeline that you would cause. The case can also be made that if SOMEON ELSE went back in time to serilize your parents so that you would never be born, they would have no reason to go back in time to serilize your parents to prevent you from being born because you wouldnt be around to prevent from being born.
