Here at Georgia Tech, all we get are concepts. They never walk you through a course and tell you step by step how to do things. It's up to you to design the system and to figure out how to implement the concepts that were taught to you.
You can learn about the real world in a community college or a vocational school or even from friends and family. But you won't get the advanced hardcore conceptual education that you'll get at a good school.

I get that argument from a few students at my school. Right now most of them can't find jobs. I think there should be balance. We didn't have it at our school.
