Yes, so true. Princess Mononoke is one of those rare cases that actually has an impact on the viewer. It is definately greatness incarnate. Ashitaka was one good protagonist. I was a bit shocked when he shot that arrow at the one raider but then realised how different Japanese cartoons are then North American cartoons.
I used to watch Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z but the repetativeness finally got to me. I couldn't stand to watch more episodes of just 2 fighters powering up and thinking panicky thoughts anymore. Dragon Ball Z consisted of about 10 major fights and it had like 350 episodes. Each fight would have at least 4-5 episodes where nothing really happened except they would insult each other, power up, transform, and maybe throw 3 punches and shoot a rock.
