The only thing I wanted out of life when I left high school was just to find a girl who could "get" me. I had this ridiculous IQ (168), 4.0 gpa, etc., and I loved to talk about things on a deeper intellecutal level. Instead I ended up going out with girls who loved to shop, get drunk and basically had a hard time figuring out what day of the week it was. I was very lucky to meet my wife who was also in grad school at the same university. We are able to talk about most things, and if she doesn't always get what I am saying right away, she is smart enough to ask questions until she gets it.
Seriously, I'm pretty lucky in my job to work with very smart people. They can get what you are saying with the barest amount of information. That being said, there are still the people behind the scenes (invoice coders) who really make the Accounting department go but can't find their way out of a paper bag. It takes about 20 percent of my day to correct accounting mistakes on items I never even see until they are completely through the system.
