Yeah, but that IS the whole point.
If he wasn't a computer guy, and he heard "Windows 2000", then he probably wanted to try to engage in conversation.
He asked if that was something to do with "Y2K". He didn't come out and say something stupid like "Yeah, that's really gonna fix our Y2K problem...", as if he knew something.
How many of you have been in the presence of a professional, in some area where you have no expertise, and have asked an innocent question that probably shows your ignorance in that area?
