I definitely think height can play an important role, atleast at the beginning of a relationship. I once dated this girl who was so attracted to me largely because I was as tall as her. She was over 6' tall so it was a big deal for her to find someone she enjoyed being with who could look her in the eye! Very early on, however, I realized I didn't enjoy being with her and it was all downhill from there.
Ah well, point is I think the fact that I was tall played a large part in the original attraction.
