I have owned, and sold, several notebooks, all Thinkpads. I cannot reccommend IBM anymore. IBM really has a problem with customer service as of the last two years.
Dell looks good, just make your own decision. You can spec a notebook anyway you want, like building a desktop.
Regrettably, I can no longer suggest the IBM Thinkpad in good consience.
