between a router and an ethernet hub?

I have 3Com OfficeConnect Ethernet Hub 4C that I got from work. (Anytime they have old stuff thats going to get tossed out, I usually scoop it up, even if I dont have a use for it. I figure sooner or later I might.) I am getting into something thats going to require the use of a router and wondered if this Hub I have would work. The router that is recommended for this project is a Netgear RP.

any help would be appreciated.
