Occasional? In the last five years, i've had sex with three different women who were technically virgins but had no hymen whatsoever. It's pretty rare to find an intact hymen on a woman these days. That opinion may have held true for centuries, but it's gradually more accepted that a woman will probably lose her hymen from activities unrelated to sexual intercourse.
The reason that I bring this up is that the first girlfriend I slept with was completely shocked at the ease of our first sexual encounter, and actually upset by it. She felt like she denied me something. It took a few weeks and actually some research to convince her otherwise.
