What about one hundred and one?

One hundred and one is improper. The proper way to write out this number is 'one hundred one'. The word 'AND' used in numbering indicates a decimal point. For example 100.1 would be stated as 'one hundred and one tenth'. In money, the 'AND' indicates the cents value of the number, as in $120.25, would be said as 'one hundred twenty dollars AND 25 cents'.
