Mine was a Colt Trooper II revolver in .22LR. Great gun, my grandparents got it for me when I was a baby. They wanted to bu a .44 magnum for me (they'd planned to buy for each of their grandsons and did buy one for every one of my male cousins), but my mother nixed the idea. She didn't do it because she didn't like guns, she just figured I'd be able to use a .22 earlier and thus it'd be more worthwhile.
I loved that little gun and got years of shooting out of it. Sadly, it was stolen by movers the 2nd time we were PCS'ed to Germany, along with all the rest of our guns. If I ever find out who stole that portion of my childhood I'll likely break a few laws regarding private dispensation of justice.
About "Chipmunks", My mom has continued the grandparents buying the kids guns family tradition by buying my daughter and son matching Chipmunks in stainless and synthetic stocks. They are so tiny! I'd call em cute, but it's tough to call any gun cute that's matte stainless with a black synth stock and fiber optic insets in the sights. Wish I'd had something that cool as a little one...
