Agree with bermuDa, <a href="http://www.iriver.com">iRiver</a> makes some great firmware upgradable products. I've had an <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000063574/qid=1059817707/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/103-9745936-8628617?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846">iMP-350</a> mp3 cd player for nearly two years now and it's great if you carry a backpack and you're on a budget (only $110 or $180 for the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00009YDPM/qid=1059817869/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/103-9745936-8628617?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846">iMP-550</a>). It can read packet write cd-rws so I usually burn new tunes onto cd as I go.
