Total Annihilation, anybody still play?
Ever since picking this up while waiting for Starcraft this has been the only RTS I've continuously played. Great variety, great gameplay, great gaphics for it's time (still decent today), and grat physics.
I love this game because it just plays "right". In other games a ground unit simply couldn't click on a "flying" (usually hovering stupidly) attacker. In TA I at least have the choice of trying, I know the projectiles will not hit, and will instead probably land on my own forces, but I enjoy that instead of simply being unable to issue the command, I know a tank couldn't hit a plane because it tracks too slow, and the projectile isn't fast enough. I love playing on common sense instead of obscure, rock can't attack paper, rules.
This is also just about the only game that treats aircraft halfway realistically. Instead of the sleek looking futuristic planes in Starcraft that just hovering there, TA planes actually fly around, and fast. If TA planes are moving, they're going fast, and don't stop in midair for a bio break out the side of the cockpit.
Anyhow, I'm just curious as to how many others still play routinely. I just can't stand any of the new RTS games.
