I don't see anywhere where you were fired, but you DO have to own up to it. Your boss has insurance, but there is a deductable and this was your fault. If you didn't think you could do the job then you should have told them so up front.
All of the advice offered here may seem harsh to you, but you are an adult now. Time to act like one.
