Travelling in Greece
Hi all,
I have just fallen into a fortunate situation. I will be going to Greece for a month (from May 15th-June 15th). I will be travelling alone. I am renting a house for a month in Glyfada (Near Athens) from an old Greek lady. I envision taking 2-5 day trips to islands and roam and bounce but still keep and pay for a place near athens for a month.
The reason I am doing this is because I think I am getting a pretty good deal for the month ($850) and the house *could* be real nice. The lady says it has a terrace that over looks the city on one side and the ocean on the other.
I have a few questions: First does it sound worth it to do or do you think I'll have (substantially) better luck hosteling and hoteling it around greece/europe. I realize that it all depends on what I want to do, but I am wondering if someone knowledgeable thinks that this is a good enough deal to keep a 'home-base' in Athens for a month. My other question is, besides Greece, what else is is possible from there. Is it feasible to go to Italy for a day or two? Turkey? Prague? Belgrade? Anyone's thoughts?
Also, if anyone is going to be around in that time, let me know and we can do a little partying.
Thanks in advance for your input,
Paul
