I have always had that rule -- no matter how attractive I found her to be -- if she is with someone who is in my inner circle than she is off limits. Call it out of respect or courtesy. As I've aged I've become a bit cynical -- there is not just one perfect love for each of us out there but a bevy of beauties who I could spend the rest of my life with so why would I need to break up a friendship over a one night stand....
