It was a great story.

Curtis is from Ostrander, Ohio, a little burg (400) about 10 miles beyond the urban sprawl of the Columbus metro.

I'm from Columbus. I thought Ben Curtis had to be British. I wa out of town vacationing and only watched Sunday. Curtis makes a birdie and ABC show a graphic saying he's from Columbus. I thought it had to be a mistake?!?

I'm a sports fan and pay attention to this stuff. The local media was caught totally unaware. By Sunday, TV was on it, but the newpaper didn't catch up until Monday. Radio missed the whole thing, because, of course, no body actually works at most radio stations anymore. Weekends are automated.

Anyway, it's the biggest Sports upset Columbus fans have enjoyed since way back... on January 3rd. Remember that Ohio State football win!!! It's been a very good year. Before that, we have to go back to Buster Douglas knocking out Tyson.
