The following thread is very loosely based on a true story*

I called my insurance company yesterday to get a quote for car insurance. Somebody called Tanya answered and said "Thank you for calling Star Insurance customer services, my name is Tanya. How may I help?".

I asked for a quote but she said I had to phone the sales line, for which she gave me the telephone number. I called the sales line and somebody called Tanya answered. She said "Thank you for calling Star Insurance sales, my name is Tanya. How may I help?".

I said "I just spoke to you and you told me to call sales?".

She said "Thats right sir, how may I help you?".

I replied "Well like I said, I want a quotation please".

She answered "I'm sorry sir, we can only issue quotations between Monday and Friday".

I asked "Well why didn't you tell me that before?".

She replied "Because you have to phone sales for a quotation".

I said "Thats rediculous, let me speak to your manager".

She put me through to her manager, John, and I told him that I wanted to complain about Tanya's poor customer service.

Unfortunately, John told me I would have to phone the customer complaints line, for which he gave me the number.

I called the customer complaints line, and Tanya answered.
