No doubt.
I still think that giving a helpful answer is superior to giving an uninformative one. Either way, you're still making the effort to answer. Adding your voice to the litany of "it doesn't matter" is just repeating advice that that other person already intuitively distrusts.
Clearly, size DOES matter to a lot of people. A few of those people are even girls.
