The Dream
The car swerved right, then left
Jerking me back and forth where I sat
Then we ramped
Breaking through the fence shaped barrier
The car was falling
So slowly I thought I would die before it hit
My first instinct was to jump out
But gravity, pulled the door shut
I felt weightless like I was floating
My left side hit first
I felt my jaw go numb
Then the rest of me
I held my jaw with my left hand
I wrapped my other arm around my waist
Then I saw myself
Floating like I had just said
I started screaming and kicking
Trying to make noise so that someone would hear me
So someone could save me
But nothing, not a sound came out
It was so dark and gray
Where my crumpled form lay
Drifting in the air, over and over
I was so scared and mad
Because I didn’t get to say goodbye
I never get to say goodbye
