On a related note, "Coupling" is one of the great tv shows that most Americans haven't heard of. It's a Brit comedy, vaguely like "Friends" but oh so much better. NBC picked up a version of it for next season, but I'm sure it won't be the same. I know it's all new actors, and they were absolutely key to the show. Besides, Sarah Alexander is HOT.
And for movies, maybe it's just because I'm young but most people I know have never heard of, much less seen "Shane." Their loss.
