Indeed... and from the opposite angle, look at criminals, murderers, and terrorists. I doubt anyone would say the difference they make is a positive one, but no one can deny the difference they make.
Aside from the drastic, everyone makes some difference all the time. Even sitting in your chair reading this you are breathing in air, chaning its molecular composition, and exhaling back out. Every single thing you do affects something ... causes some difference.
