I used to work at a gas station many a year ago. One evening, just as I was about to leave, some idjit in a white chevy van did that exact thing, drving away with the handle still in the truck. Fortunately, he had already finished pumping his gas and the pump was off. However, it did break the handle right off the hose.
Now, the worst thing about this whole deal for me was that, instead of getting to leave on time, I had to spend 45 minutes filling out an accident report because the night shift girl was clueless as to anything more complicated than making change.
