I don't trust those online type deals where you enter your e-mail address. Almost always they pass on your e-mail to other sites and then you get bombed with spam.
To rid myself of telemarketers is usually by screening my calls or when I do happen to pick up I tell them to hold on a sec, put the phone down and carry on about my business. Especially when I'm busy doing something else.
